Alex gasped as the
mans hand tightened his grip around her hair. She new a good amount of
and had defended herself against worst guys then this, compared to most
of the men in California, this man seemed like a well to do prince
throwing a childish
tantrum for being caught trying to run away and dress like a mere
commoner. Not that she could blame the man, had she of not promised the
man that she would
tell the truth, she would have done everything, even by performing a few
underhanded illusion tricks, tricks she felt was dishonorable to do to
sacred as foretelling ones future, but she would of done it in order to
keep from telling the message shown on all but the one card that rested
just a few
inches from her hand.
Perhaps the reason why she didn't do anything against the mans attack was because she had felt pity for
him, or perhaps ashamed that she had to be the one to tell the man that the stars had faded out on his future.
Alex felt as if the
whole room was spinning by the time the mans grip had loosened on her
hair and her chin
came falling down towards the table her arms pushing out to the table in
order to catch her fall, When the man had attacked her he had pulled
her nearly up off
of her toes in his furry, and now she sat rubbing her closed fist into
her scalp attempting to rub out the prickling pain from her hair being
Once recovered she
had noticed that within that short split second the man was forced into
his seat with a
broken arm, Hasgard standing over him like a dark shadow of a horrible
fate, Alex gasped out in fear as she looked onto the man that had
attacked her and the
demon looming over him, but the imagery was quickly interrupted as
Thorian stepped into her view of the man and began to talk, though she
could not hear what
he was saying, for her focus was back on the unturned card sitting on
the table if front of her.
While her friends were busy taking care of the disputers she reached over and picked up the card, and slowly
turned it over, her heart thumping slower then it did when he had asked his question.
She whispered her
voice too silent for anyone to hear over the shouts and screams of the
people inside the
pub. Her eyes looking upon the card in her hand. Her thoughts poured
over the three similar cards that she had drawn for herself when on the

her, the shouts silenced, the cries muffled, the moan of the man

dagger tearing through her very soul. Deciding it wasn't a good idea to
back down now that she had everyone's attention she swallowed the lump
throat and stepped towards the man flanked by Thorian and Hasgard.
"I keep my promise"
She bent forward so that she could whisper into the mans ear, her hand slipping the last card into his belt
as she whispered
"As well as your secret…"
Again she straitened up, nodding her head towards the door.

still trying to compose herself, brushing off flecks of food from her
robes, and ringing out a
small portion of her hair where some of the ale had spilled drenching it
during the mans death grip, after wards she scratched the top of her
head in hopes to
bring feeling back to the nerves and hopefully calm down the
inflammation from her hair being pulled. She only slightly listened to
belle as she seemingly ran
from one direction to the other in attempts to calm the waters, though
it didn't look like there was much success.
Once Belle had
finished conversing with her grandfather and the mistress of the pub
Alex gathered up her
cards and began to force her way to the outside, dragging Belle, who was
trying to invite more people to her grandpas home, by the hand.
"Belle… We don't want to cause anymore trouble here tonight, I don't care where we go,
Alex was desperate to get out, to get far away, and to find a place where that man would be unable to find
them again. She had a strange feeling that, that was not the last they had seen of him.
Once out on the street Alex looks left, and then right… no one… Finally deciding to take up lead she kept to
the right of the street, still dragging belle by the hand, seemingly looking for something.
"Belle… Tell me, how do you feel? Thorian!! Get Hasgard out of here! He is drawing to much
attention!" Alex Snapped as she glared at a couple of women staring fearfully at these strange kids wondering the streets.
She continued to wind
up and down the street until she reached a small run down looking shop
with red paint
forming strange words with a faded wine goblet next to it. Stopping in
front of the door Alex lightly pushed belle towards it and said
"Go in, order a glass… drink it… Don't look at me like that! Just Do
Alex continued to snap out orders, she seemed to not be very comfortable about something, and was very
guarded around her friends

talked to the owner of the pub, but her thoughts were on her own
problems. She heard
herself rambling on about how sorry she was for the pubs damages, and
saw herself hand the owner the envelope of money as an apology.
Underneath it all, Belle
was scared. She was scared of what she was becoming, and didn't know
what to do with herself. The only thing she could do was ramble on,
until finally she
finished up her ramblings by asking the waitress to stay at her
grandfather's castle for the summer. As soon as she was finished, she
gathering up her cards in haste. Alex walked over to Belle and grabbed
her, and practically drug her out of the pub.
"Belle… We don't want to cause anymore trouble here tonight; I don't care
where we go, let's just…GO!"
hollered back at the waitress as she was escorted out of the pub. "I'll
someone to pick you up later! Just let the driver know if you want to go
or not!" Belle walked in stride with her friends as Alex kept glancing
seemed she was afraid of catching up with the group of men that made a
scene at the pub. Belle wouldn't mind…no….she would love for them to try
with her friends.
"Belle… Tell me, how do you feel? Thorian!! Get Hasgard out of here! He is drawing
to much attention!"
looked over at Thorin, who was obviously annoyed with Alex's remark.
turned her attention back to Alex and answered her question. "Well…I
don't know…a little different. I want the men to come back so I
Belle didn't know what she wanted to do to the men, but it wouldn't end
well. She was really thirsty. "I really need a drink though…I am really
thirsty…I don't know why…I had enough mead to last me the night, but I
am still thirsty." Alex stopped suddenly at the entrance to a bizarre
pub. She looked at the wall where there was writing in red, and turned
her attention back to Belle.
didn't even realize she was looking at Alex in any
particular way, but she wasn't going to argue. She was thirty. Belle
opened the door and walked in. The place was initially dark, but her
quickly. She scanned the room, and chills went up her spine. There were
only a couple of people scattered around the pub, and no one seemed to
care she was
there. The bartender seemed to be the only life in the room, and she
wasn't even sure about that. The woman bartender was facing the wall
making a drink.
"Not from around here are you?" The bartender asked sweetly. Belle
couldn't believe her ears, the woman was a man. She looked at his long,
straight, jet black hair, and managed to squeak out a "N..N..No. I…I
just need a drink. I'm really thirsty." The bartender turned around and
Belle gasped at how young, around her age, and how beautiful he was.
Most men are handsome…a manly man, but this guy was beautiful. He had
porcelain skin and
his black hair contrasted, but in a very sexy way. His eyes were a light
grey almost blue. He had the smile of a God, and Belle felt relaxed
presence instantly. His lips curled up into a smile and he walked over
to the counter. "I have just the thing you need…it's in the back. Follow
please." Belle followed behind the bartender, and couldn't help but let
her eyes slip down to his bottom. The temperature in the room suddenly
a few degrees, and she gasped when she accidentally bumped into him. He
had stopped to open a door, and Belle had not realized it due to her
concentration. "Oh…sorry…" The bartender tilted his head and smiled that
gorgeous smile of his, and opened the door. He turned on a light, and
realized they were going into the basement. "After you, I insist." Belle
blushed and went down into the basement, and was surprised that she
didn't object to going into the basement with a stranger, but she didn't
feel threatened at all. She reached the bottom and waited for her
bartender brushed past her, and heat lingered where he had brushed her
arm. He walked over to a barrel sitting on tap. She heard him whisper
then turned towards her with a goblet filled with wine. "We had to come
all the way down here to get a glass of wine?" Belle couldn't seem to
keep her thoughts to herself as she followed her comment with "I didn't
mind the view though." Belle blushed and put and hand over her mouth.
couldn't believe what she had just said! Was she going mad? The
bartender chuckled and handed her the goblet. "Please, drink up! You
will feel much
better." Belle took the goblet and looked at the wine. It was a very
deep red. She shrugged and drunk. Belle's eyes widened as she realized
was drinking. At first she couldn't do anything but look at the goblet
in shock as blood dripped from her mouth, but then she needed it. She
craved it. So,
with tears in her eyes she drank the rest and handed the cup back to the
bartender. He looked at her, and his eyes seemed to penetrate her very
"I'm sorry, but time will heal you. It's not that bad, you will get us
to it." Belle looked down and took out some money to pay for her
'drink.' "Nope, put your money away. It's on the house. Do you have
someone…umm…to help you?" Belle looked up and smiled at the stranger.
"Yeah…my grandfather. Thanks for asking though. Sorry…I should get
going." Belle turned and started towards the stairs, when the bartender
back to her. "No problem! Hey, um, look me up if you ever come back by."
Belle turned and smiled. "Thanks, I will." Belle went up the
stairs and out the front door of the pub. She stepped out into the night
air and turned to Alex. "How did you know?"

Alex flashed a grin
at Belle as her roommate came out from the dark enterer of the pub. Alex
leaning up against a lamp pole watching Thorian stare mindlessly off
into the distance, if she didn't know any better she would of thought
the boy was
talking to himself. While Hasgrid shifted from one foot to another
grumbling about the human form he was asked to shift into. Alex on the
other hand tried her
hardest to act like a tough gangster who would kill anyone who so much
as looked at her or her little group, while she skillfully shuffled her
Taro Cards from
one hand to the other. The creatures that patrolled this area were that
of the vampire race, and if not careful herself and thorian could find
trouble if they
didn't watch whom they ran into. No point in angering a thirsty vampire
right? It was why she had sent her roommate into the pub alone, Belle
had a better
chance alone in that place then any of the others did, Alex especially,
being a pure blooded kitsune, she could only guess what their kind would
say about her
"Mmm The Sweet essence of fox!" Whilst another would Argue "Oh no, we
call her a big gulp in America! "
Suppressing a shiver Alex coughed into her hand and continued
"Neeeeh I overheard
the Hunter Guards talking about this place. I guess for a little while
selling cows blood instead of human blood, caused an uproar in the
vampire communities. Guess theirs something different about cows blood
or something, dunno…
but anyways there was a fight and next thing ya know the week after the
fight the local….."
Alex raised her hands up to mimic the common hand signs for quotations
"…'Hospitals' did a major blood drive to all the schools and business's here in dublin. Any
who I guess the humans don't know that half their donations goes here, to this run down old pup."
Alex pointed towards the sign written in red paint.
"I just… well I just
remember when I found out who I was… and well… it was a little scary…
and so I did
some research…. Its been said that one who becomes new to their world…
if they don't aaaah… don't drink… they could forget who the people are
them and attack anyone nearest to sooth that blood lust….so I…so….well
yea. Umm… Could we get out of here?"
Alex finished, watching as two pale looking men in dark robes picked their way closer to the pub, more then
likely they were un-interested in the small group of kids clustered outside of its doors but she wanted to be careful.

"Thanks for looking out for me…I wouldn't have known…thanks." Belle felt
tears forming in here eyes, and was saved from humiliation as she heard
the bartender walking towards her. A tear trickling down her cheek as
she turned towards him. She locked eyes with him, and was instantly
hypnotized once again
by his beauty. He stopped in front of her, only inches from her own
face. She looked at him, and was a little startled when he raised his
hand and wiped at her
tears. "No need for that…." His hand caressing her cheek. "I forgot to
give you this." The bartender reached inside his pants pocket and
retrieved a pack of Tums. She reached out and accepted the medicine.
"It's amazing what medicine will do…even for a vampire." She began to
it, but he lightly grabbed her hand before she could move it. "I also
forgot to give you this." He reached up, with his free hand to his shirt
pocket, and brought out something that looked like a quill. He licked
the end of it, and wrote down a number on the package of Tums. "Call me
if you need
anything. Or…if you just want to hang out." He smiled, and Belle's heart
melted. "Shu…Shu…yeah…ok…thanks!" He smiled at her obvious
bashfulness, and went back into the pub.
"THATS IT YOU OLD COOT !!"
was so transfixed on the bartender leaving that she jumped when Thorin
shouted. She spun around to see what was going on, and gasped as Thorin
shot what appeared to be lightening out of his hands. The scene
continued as their
bickering intensified, and suddenly his uncle appeared…but in a ghostly
form. Thorin shot his uncle looks that could have killed, and his uncle
kept wagging a
finger at him; reminding Belle of a child being disciplined by a

carefully opened the Tums package. She was careful not to tear it where
the phone number was written. She realized a name was also scrawled

something very unique. She shook her head and thought to herself that
she watched too many
movies. She grimaced as she chewed the Tums.
"I'm so sorry."
heard Thorin apologize and looked over at him to put him at ease.
"No worries…I knew I would get some heat from being…well, what I am. I
know you're not that way." Belle put the Tums wrapper in her pocket and
sighed in relief as a limo pulled up next to her. Angus stepped out of
the driver's side of the limo, and opened the door to the back seat. He
hat and looked over to Belle with a crooked smile. "Please, you wouldn't
want to keep your grandfather waiting." Belle turned toward her friends
and rolled her eyes. "Don't worry about Angus…he's kind of scary
looking, but he's harmless. I promise! Anyways…Go ahead and get in you
two!" Belle gestured for them to go ahead of her. She was secretly glad
that Angus was here. She knew he could take care of anyone that tried to
problem. Belle looked up after she took a seat and gasped. The limo was
amazing! There was chilled wine sitting next to a tray filled with an
cheese and crackers. Belle noticed soft music playing in the background,
as their chauffeur closed the door behind them. "Wow!" was all Belle
manage to say as she looked around the limo. She reached over and picked
up the bottle of wine out of the holder. 1834 Merlot was all she could
make out on the
bottle. It didn't have a label like most wine. Unsure what exactly was
in the bottle, she took out a glass and poured herself a drink. She
tasted it just
to make sure, and gave her friends a thumbs up. She crouched and walked
to the front of the limo, and rolled down the partition. "How long of a
it to the castle." Belle asked as Angus turned a corner onto a dark back
road. "About fifteen minutes down this road."
Angus replied. Belle went back to where she had been sitting and sighed
heavily followed by a yawn. She finally felt somewhat safe. At least the
safest she has
felt in a while.

continued to shuffle her cards, lazily leaning
back against the lamp poll, her entire posture the picture of calm and
patience. Except for her eyes, which darted from one ally street to the
next, her jaw
moving just slightly indicating that she was trying to chew on her own
tongue due to her nervousness of the street they were on, as well as the
possibility of running into that strange guy at the pub again. The other
thing that bothered her as she watched belle talk on her little cell
phone was the
fact that she was not only friends with a vampire that would sooner take
her blood over a humans, but was willingly walking into a home… no a
castle!! Full of
vampires. Was this… she wondered… a good Idea?
she new her roommate was simply that… a friend, a
friend she had never had in many years. And more then likely she
wouldn't even conceder harming Alex… at least… when not in a blood lust
state… But then,
that was the trick wasn't it? And the Castle? Who ever heard of all
slaves obeying their Masters commands?? Especially when waiving a deluxe
under the noses of passionate creatures!
blinked though in surprise when she noticed a man
standing in the shadows, pushing herself off the lamp post she took one
step towards the man ready to charge in with fists of furry!!
But no… wait… what was this? Alex
Thought as she watched Belle and the strange man walk up to each other,
his cold white fingers
brushing up against her pale skin still flushed with the warm blood of
life, not yet taken from her through the curse of centuries handed down.
There interaction did not last long, and her hands fumbled with a small item Alex could only guess was given by the stranger.
Alex was still caught in mid step staring strangely at
the back of the man as he re-entered his pub. Was Belle looking at that boy like Alex thought she was? Well… I suppose he is ok looking… for a vampire… She
reasoned with herself before moving to lean back up against the
lamppost, only to miss it
completely stumbling back trying to catch her footing which was lost due
to the sudden shout of Thorian and the surge of lightning moving in a

Alex to shrug

"He's kinda funny… You should bring him around more often Thorian, he
