“We only had one, “ The Warden said
walking over to one of the monitors, he punched in a series of digits
on the keyboard. On the holotable an image of an older Zabrak
appeared, “ Dr. Ephram Zimm. Expert in computers.. He helped create
a computer systems that let the Empire's weapons kill as many people
as efficiently as possible. He's the reason why many of the Empire's
heavy battle droids are so deadly and accurate. He's probably
responsible for more deaths than any single weapon's expert in the
galaxy. When the war was over, he turned himself in to the Republic.
He was sentenced to life in prison, here.”
The Warden sighed, “You'll find him in the lower levels.."
Kieran and Zasha were enjoying a meal.
It was a long journey. Kieran felt sorry for her, she had followed
him without a moment's hesitation. He figured he owed her an
explanation. He told her the story between Triss and himself, if
only to pass the time, He was finishing one about when he first met
Triss, ""He made me promise to watch over her..."
"Must of been difficult...I
mean...She was his Apprentice Shouldn't she of been there?"
"Like I said, She had a unique
ability that he couldn't help her with, She had to go find the
answers on her own."
Zasha nodded as she scrapped the last
of her food from her plate "I suppose I can understand that.
Does that mean we will be sharing Apprenticship with you?" she
smiled up at him
"I don't know, " He told
her,” He hadn't thought that far ahead, "She's been training
for much longer than you have. She doesn't need much from me... You
barely have fours of training. She has at least ten years. No
Zasha shrugged "Hey...It is what
it is." she smiled
Kieran nodded, "Anyway after that
We..." He stopped and pressed his hand to his forehead, he shook
Zasha tilted her head and lowered her
fork "You ok?" she questioned
"Theres a great disturbance in the
Force," He said shaking his head, "Something Big is going
A frown pulled at her lips "Just a
few more hours" she reassured
“Yeah...I think that.." Just as
Kieran was about to finish his sentence, a light began to blink,
"We're getting a message. go to the Cockpit and see what they
want. I need to center myself" He still looked unbalanced.
Zasha nodded as she stood, wiped her
lips and hurried off to the cockpit. Slipping into the chair as she
activated the holo and looked up to see who was calling them
"Hello Zasha, "Miles smiled,
in a way that would make most Sith lords cringe. " I heard about
your master....What a pity."
Zasha, used to this by now simply
groaned and leaned back in the chair "What do you want Miles?"
"Aw, is that the way you treat an
old friend ?" Miles frowned in fake offense, "I'm
“Sure you are." she growled.
before straightening in her chair "What is your message M'lord?"
"We have received word that there
is an increase in military activity where you and your master are
heading," He told her.
"Imperial?" Zasha questioned
with a raised brow. Her interest peeking
"We're not sure, It doesn't seem
Imperial... May be Republic, But I doubt it.."
"Curious, “ She replied, “I'll
let Master Gnosis know of potential threat"
"Imperial command has given you
two orders to investigate the military build up and eliminate any
threat as you see fit."
"A small freighter of two Sith
against a potential fleet? Are you crazy?!" She yelped
He simply smiled, “I'm putting
together a fleet of warships but it will take time. I'm sure you can
"In other words you hope we get
obliterated before you arrive..." she growled. "Fine. Ill
pass on the orders"
"May the Force serve you well,"
He cut the transmission
Zasha sighed and stood from her chair
to seek out Kieran "Master?" she questioned as she entered
into the common room where she left him
He leaned against the wall, having only
just regained his balance "Yes ?" Kieran said as he reached
over and took a sip of water.
"It was Miles. He says there’s
some sort of Military build up going on at the prison...And WE are
supposed to go in and 'Eliminate any threat as we see fit'"
He sighed, "Well you wanted to
fight." and looked up at her, "I think you'll get your fill

Master Oak sought and the Warden provided information about the laboratories mentioned. There was only one person currently using them. A supposedly guilt-ridden Imperial systems engineer who couldn’t take what his work had done and turned himself in. Nylla found it almost heroic, until she realized that while he was kept away from society as a whole he was given access to the thing that he did. His life did not cease as those that his inventions affect. Death didn’t only affect the one whose life ended. It affected those left behind. Nylla knew this quite well.
Master Oak didn’t seem to recognize the name, but the Zabrak that was announced to be the only scientist doing work in the prison’s labs. The Master’s statement confirmed that much. The name was new. Arik and the Padawan were certainly here for Triss was Master Oak a happy coincidence. Dovek was now gone. Nylla was glad for that he handled himself honorably and didn’t deserve to suffer any further. She hoped to one day see him on Nar Shaddaa as he suggested.
“Arik, it seems that the Padawan has a good handle on the situation and shows more trust in him than she has in me. If we’re getting this Zabrak we need to move out now,” she turned to Master Oak and smiled, “Whether Arik comes or not I’m behind you Maser.”

Arik nodded, “ I agree.” He looked
back on his sister, “I think, Bryen has things handled here.” He
didn't want to let go. For the past few years, hes been hoping for
this exact moment. Even now, it still felt like a dream. It didn't
feel real. A part of him wondered of it was a dream, if it was it was
a good one.
“I need to go with them for a bit, “
He whispered gently, “I'll be back as soon as I can.”
Triss looked fearfully up at her
brother, eyes wide and tearful "No..please, we must run...we
He smiled and stroked her cheek gently,
"I'll be fine. I'll be back in no time."
"...but..." Triss whimpered
but wasn't sure what else to say or do.
“Shh," He planted a kiss on her
forehead, " I won't be long.."
He separated from her and stood up
turning to Nylla. “I think we better go.” The Warden was off to
the side talking to one of the technicians hunching over the view
screen. He looked worried, every so often he would glance over at
the Jedi. He saw that Arik wanted to talk to him, he said one more
thing to the technician and walked up to him.
“Ready to go, Master Jedi ?” He
“Very well, “ The Warden said, and
looked over to one of his lieutenants, a young human woman, “You're
in charge while I'm gone, Lieutenant Okuda”
She saluted and went back to her duties
while the Warden walked to the door. Arik followed taking one last
look at Triss before walking out

The Warden seemed quite anxious to get under way and after giving a comforting farewell to Triss, Arik signaled his readiness and the Jedi were off after the Warden. Arik was allowed to take lead completely fine with Nylla. Oak went next after offering a flattering compliment to the young Guardian.
Nylla took the rear,”If you knew why I was here in the first place Master Oak you might take that back.” She answered with a bit of a chuckle. “The death of my mother hit me hard. I’ve been trying to separate myself from personal attachments. I see the dangers they represent. But those that were already there are hard to ignore. I was here to meet with my father to try and save a friend…more than a friend. You call it handling myself well I call it luck. Besides, Trisskar didn’t seem very happy about my actions. Seems like she would have been happier rotting in the cell then letting her brother know she was alive. That’s what the scene was about when you came in…probably had something to do with the fact that I had to reel them in too. As I said I struggle sometimes between right for me and right for the galaxy.”
With a smile she decided she’d said about all she should or could say and just did her part following behind with her hand poised on her weapon. This Zabrak scientist seemed like he would be a very valuable cog for the Dark Man’s plans if the masked villain could make the seemingly self-judging Zabrak resume his work in the realm of war. They couldn’t let the Dark Man or the Empire have this scientist. He needed to remain locked up as he wanted for the sorrow he has dealt upon the galaxy.

Nylla watched the viewscreens that littered the prison for a second time. And for a second time she was disgusted. The masked face of their previous enemy, promising these, the most dangerous people in the galaxy a place in his army. Years prior this man had maimed Arik in an attempt to gain power. To end the Jedi and the Sith. It seemed that time had not quenched his thirst for power, nor his desire to end the two battling factions.
Arik’s comment to the Warden gave Nylla a moment’s giggle. She was unsure whether the statement was meant to be humorous or just nick a scratch in the Warden’s previously unruffled skin. Perhaps Arik just didn’t know what to say and his natural sarcasm came bubbling out. Nylla felt her hand grip tightly on the hilt of her lightsaber. As the mechanical voice of the prison announced the evacuation, “That cannot be good,” she uttered beneath her breath, though Master Oak and Arik would most likely hear it.
Master Oak called an end to the mission, a demand that Nylla certainly saw the wisdom in, but they were likely in the midst of the evacuation process. And there was still the scientist, getting to him before the Dark Man could save the galaxy from certain destruction. “I assume that the Dark Man has control of the prison now, counteracting the evacuation procedures is likely a futile effort and one that is beyond us anyways.” She stepped forward to address the Warden. “Path of least resistance? Out or to the labs?”
